As preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify, former military president General Ibrahim Babangida has reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s unity, endorsing the ideals of The Nigerian Project, a newly emerging political movement focused on national development and reform.
During a courtesy visit by members of The Nigerian Project to his Hilltop residence in Minna, Babangida emphasized that national unity remains essential for Nigeria’s progress, warning that a divided country cannot achieve meaningful development.
“I believe in one Nigeria, and on its unity, I stand. Thank you for following my footsteps and upholding the ideals of patriotism and national unity that we all fought for,” Babangida told the delegation.
The former president urged Nigerians to remain loyal to the nation and its leadership, advocating for inclusive governance where citizens can freely express their views, engage in meaningful debates, and see policies implemented for national advancement.
With The Nigerian Project positioning itself as a key player in the 2027 elections, Babangida’s endorsement signals growing political realignments ahead of the polls, reinforcing calls for national cohesion and sustainable development.
