The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that aspirants for the Anambra State governorship primary will be required to pay ₦50 million to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms.
In a statement released on Monday, the party also unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities leading up to the primary election.
According to the schedule, signed by APC’s National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) will only need to pay ₦10 million for the expression of interest form, while the nomination form will be issued to them free of charge.
Additionally, young politicians between the ages of 25 and 40 will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form fee.
Argungu stated that all interested candidates must visit the APC national headquarters in Wuse II, Abuja, between February 10 and 25 to purchase and collect their forms.
“In compliance with the relevant sections of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act, the APC hereby releases its timetable and schedule of activities for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” he said.
Key dates in the APC timetable include:
•February 10-25 – Sale of nomination and expression of interest forms
•February 26 – Deadline for submission of forms
•March 7-8 – Screening of aspirants
•March 10 – Publication of screening results
•April 2 – Delegates Congress
•April 5 – Primary Election
•April 6 – Ratification of election results by Congress
•April 8 – Submission of nominated candidates to the APC National Working Committee (NWC)
The party also announced that its campaign for the Anambra governorship election will officially commence on June 11, with the grand finale set for November 6.
