Nollywood actress Empress Njamah has replied to a fan of hers who prayed for her to get married and settle down over her age.
The movie star had taken to her Instagram page to share a video of her surprising someone on her birthday. In her comment section, the fan, identified as Kemy Sneh, noted her ageing as she prayed for God to provide her with a good man.
“My own be say make God provide good man for her make she sha marry. She don dey old”.
Replying to her, Empress told the fa to focus on her muted life and learn to have positive vibes. She also threw shade at the fan as she noted that she looked older than her age because of her dark heart.
Empress made the fan know that life doesn’t begin and ends with marriage.
“My own for you be say make you focus on your muted life and learn to have positive vibes, celebrate people, and drop positive comments like other humans do. Life does not begin and end with marriage, and please, young woman looking older than your age because of your dark heart, use your bitter fingers and unfollow me sharp. Ewu”.
Empress isn’t the only female celebrity who is being pressured to get married. Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele had also replied to a Twitter user who advised her to get remarried. The tweep had urged her to get remarried in 2024, pointing out how the filmmaker was getting old, and Funke replied by appreciating him for the advice, as she noted how he is the wedding planner.
Ex-BBN star Diane Russet had also replied to a troll who questioned while she was still single. The Twitter user had expressed that it was a big deal and that at that age, Diane was supposed to give her mother a grandchild. Reacting, Diane revealed that it was better for her to marry late than wrong, as she stated that she would always take her time and that her mother would have her grandchildren when God decides.
Recall that Empress was once in a relationship with singer Timaya. However, things soon turned sour in 2009, as the two called things quit over a car. According to reports, Timaya had given Empress money to buy a new car, but she refused and kept driving his cars, which infuriated him. This pushed Timaya to call Empress a thief on a national daily, leading to their beef. However, the two settled their beef as Timaya had righted all wrongs with the movie star.
In 2022, Empress was in a relationship with a Liberian man, Josh Wade. The relationship became her worst nightmare as, in December 2022, she cried out after he blackmailed her. Narrating her ordeal, she called on the Nigerian police to help in tracking her blackmailer, who she claimed had access to her private videos and also made away with her values worth millions of naira. Things escalated between the two, and Josh Wade released her nudes and carted away her valuables.
Luck fortunately smiled on her as he met his Waterloo in 2023, as the law finally cut up on him.
