Nollywood actress Idia Aisien had a story to tell, and it wasn’t fiction at all. She shared a life changing experience that made her outlook on life to change.
In her post, Idia Aisien wrote;
”On July 6, 2024, what was supposed to be the best birthday of my life turned out to be one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had.
I broke my leg in three places and I could no longer walk. I didn’t know if I’ll be able to do the things I love, but I knew I would begin to do the things that mattered.
I watched how people with disabilities aretreated and I wanted to do my part to make life a little bit easier, Because some of the basic things we take for granted were just so hard to do
Starting with FashionAble, an adaptiveclothing label to supply clothes for people with disabilities Magnets instead of buttons and zips, wider like pants for people who have casts, shirts with arm braces embedded and much more.
Second: equipments like aesthetic boots, wheelchairs, crutches, donated to differentcenters and homes across Nigeria that needthem the most.
Third: working with different hospitals andcare centers on the kind of food and menusavailable to people who are recently disabled or in recovery. You don’t have to be rich; but everybody should have access to a decent meal.
Fourth: Funding equipments for hospitals and centers to focus on providing faster response, more effective surgeries, and the ability to pay better doctors and consultants to care for people in need.
And last but certainly not least, donations tohelp clear the debt of families who are unable to adequately cater to their loved ones with disabilities.
This I believe is one of the reasons I’ve beenblessed to come out of this situation aliveTo my family and friends who never left myside, all I can say is thank you.
It has been an incredibly painful 8weeks; For everyone who messaged, emailed, prayed, visited. I love you.”
