President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, on an official visit.
Tinubu will have a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates, presidential aide, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement on Thursday.
In China, the President will meet with President Xi Jinping and will hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials on the trip, the statement said.
Newsmen reported on Tuesday that President Tinubu was gearing up for another international trip, this time to China.
The reported noted that the state visit would coincide with the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, where President Tinubu would engage in high-level discussions and strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and China.
President Tinubu returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital, from Paris on Friday, August 23, 2024, following a brief work stay in France.
He arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at approximately 2:25 am.
Hours after his arrival, the President administered the oath of office to Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, formally inaugurating her as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, subject to Senate confirmation.
The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja on Friday at around 11:40 am, where Kekere-Ekun signed the oath register, marking the beginning of her tenure.
Last Monday, the President travelled to France for a short working trip, according to his team’s description of the visit as a ‘brief work stay’.”
