Amid the ongoing #FearlessInOctober protests, protesters have blocked a major road in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos.
The protesters who are led by Hassan Soweto, one of the organisers and national coordinator of the Education Rights Campaign, parked a van in the middle of the road at Ojota, while expressing concerns about the state of the nation.
The action forced many motorists to reverse and look for alternative routes while others got stuck.
Nigerians are protesting against the state of the economy with issues such as inflation, food inflation, fuel price hike topping the list of issues frustrating the citizens.
President Bola Tinubu’s administration has however clamped down on protesters in some parts of the country, drawing condemnation from various groups and individuals.
