Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi is gearing up for a peaceful protest for the late singer Ilerioluwa Promise, popularly known as Mohbad.
In honor of Mohbad’s one-year remembrance a week back, Yomi Fabiyi announced that there would be a peaceful protest at the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024. He claimed that those behind the heinous crime are spending millions of naira to see that they cover up the case, create distractions, and bury the blatant evidence.
He stated that he believed the CCTV inside and outside Mohbad’s house were working, and they stored someone remotely and not via DVR. He added that the builder of the houses of similar patterns and the Estate where the late singer lived have answers to where these facts are stored. Yomi questioned why the police didn’t wish to retrieve it, describing it as frustrating.
“It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully at the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024.
Those behind this heinous crime, those who cut Mohbad’s life short, are spending millions upon millions of naira to see that they cover up the case, create distractions, and bury the blatant evidence.
We are so sure the CCTV cameras inside and outside Mohbad’s house were working, and they store remotely someone and not via DVR. The builders of the houses of similar patterns and Royal Pine Estate, Off Orchid Road, Lekki security, and CDA have answers to where these facts are stored.
Why the Police did not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating. We, the masses, do not want to put laws into our hands by going to ask for them. Hence, we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up a committee to summon, visit, and bring the truth out.
COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LET US SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending.

In August, Yomi announced a solidarity assembly for fans and lovers of the singer in front of The High Court (Coroner Inquest), Ikorodu, Lagos, on September 11th. Reading out some riot acts, he stated that the assembly would continue demanding justice for the late entertainer.
Early this month, the Yoruba actor announced his plans to conduct a private investigation into Mohbad’s death. The controversial actor, via his Instagram page, revealed that as a Human Rights activist, it was pertinent for him to investigate properly, dig deep, and search for clues and closure. He stated that this was the third day of his investigation. Still, he would, however, not be giving details of his investigation to the public for safety and the right to privacy.
In another post, he shared a video of him visiting CURA_MED hospital, where he stated that the hospital did everything right and showed overwhelming proof.
