A violent attack by armed bandits on Bajat and Dole villages in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State has left a vigilante commander dead and three others injured.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident in a report on Wednesday, stating that the bandits stormed the villages around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, firing indiscriminately and causing widespread panic among residents.
During the assault, Nura Baushe, the commander of a local vigilante group, was fatally shot while trying to defend the community. Three others—Amadu Dole, Surajo Shehu, and Shafiu Sulaiman—sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, for urgent medical attention.
Following the attack, security forces were deployed to the area, restoring calm.
