Two men were lynched by a mob in Katsayal Village, Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State, in a tragic incident stemming from mistaken identity.
The victims, Gaddafi Isah, 35, and Badamasi Isah, 30, were reportedly practicing how to drive their father’s vehicle on the outskirts of the village on April 6, 2025, when the attack occurred.
According to eyewitness accounts shared with Zagazola Makama, residents of the neighboring Yakawada Village mistook the men for livestock thieves and raised a false alarm. In response, a group of locals mobilized and attacked the pair, subjecting them to severe beatings that resulted in fatal injuries.
Security personnel eventually arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sandamu, but medical staff later confirmed both men dead. The vehicle they were using was also destroyed by the mob.
Katsina State Police Command has since launched a full investigation into the incident and assured the public that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the brutal attack.
