Former U.S. President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones and is causing significant pain, his son Hunter Biden disclosed in a recent interview.
Hunter Biden, speaking emotionally to the BBC, said the disease has “metastasized into his bones and further.” He described watching his father’s condition as “very sad” and “very debilitating in many respects.”
“The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good,” Hunter said. “He is the center of our family… He is our rock.”
Biden, 83, publicly revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House. He has undergone radiation and hormone therapy. In September, he also had surgery to remove cancerous skin cells.
Former first lady Jill Biden has said her husband will “live with cancer the rest of his life.” In a June interview with Today, she noted that while prostate cancer can often be treated successfully when confined, the spread to the bones changes the outlook.
Despite the illness, Hunter said his father remains active and continues to speak publicly on issues he cares about. “He’s still doing his thing,” Hunter added. “He so believes in this country.”
