Protesters have shut down the office of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in Alagbaka, Akure, following the killing of five farmers by suspected armed herdsmen.
The attack, which occurred on Wednesday morning in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area, has sparked outrage among residents. The demonstrators, demanding justice, displayed the bodies of the slain farmers in front of the Governor’s office.
In addition to the protest in Akure, demonstrators have also blocked the Akure-Owo highway at Ogbese, causing severe traffic congestion and leaving many motorists stranded.
This incident follows an earlier reprisal attack by herdsmen on four communities in Akure North Local Government Area, which resulted in multiple casualties.
