The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has revealed that he has been a devoted follower of President Bola Tinubu since finishing secondary school.
Obasa made this known during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television program, while addressing the ongoing crisis within the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Recall that Obasa, accompanied by his security detail, forcefully entered the Assembly on Thursday and presided over a ‘plenary’ session attended by only four lawmakers move that further escalated tensions.
When asked if he had Tinubu’s support amid the crisis, Obasa stated, “I have been following this man since I just left secondary school. I have pictures to prove it. During the SDP era, I contested as a delegate. Since then, I have always been one of his disciples, and I will not change tomorrow. I have always been a loyalist. If they are just realizing that now, then they were never truly part of us from the beginning.”
Regarding his alleged rift with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Obasa dismissed the claims, insisting that he has maintained a smooth working relationship with the governor.
