The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 38 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and 100 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).
This decision was reached during the Commission’s extraordinary plenary meeting held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at its Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja. The meeting was presided over by PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) and attended by key officials, including Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd), DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), and Chief Onyemuchi Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission.
Among the 38 newly promoted DCPs are:

Additionally, 100 Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police, including:

Speaking on the promotions, PSC Chairman, DIG Argungu (rtd), reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that deserving police officers receive timely and meritorious promotions.
He urged the newly promoted officers to reciprocate the Commission’s trust by rededicating themselves to the service of Nigeria, maintaining professionalism, and upholding the values of the Nigeria Police Force.
