A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against allowing the humiliation of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, warning that posterity would not be kind to him if he fails to act.
Eze made this statement on Thursday while criticizing some lawmakers in the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus, whom he described as an “assemblage of habitual adult bedwetters” lacking moral rectitude and driven by a self-serving political agenda.
Eze, a member of the APC Legacy Media Team, was reacting to a recent communique by the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus, which accused Governor Fubara of hiring Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to manipulate the law and court judgments in his favor.
Describing the lawmakers as political area boys based in Abuja,” Eze alleged that they have abandoned their core legislative duties and become tools in the hands of individuals determined to destabilize Rivers State for personal gain.
“Rather than focusing on providing purposeful representation to their constituents, these busybody, middle-of-the-road lawmakers are playing politics with the progress and development of Rivers State,” Eze stated.
He further criticized the lawmakers loyal to Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, accusing them of illegitimately holding onto their seats despite defecting to the APC.
Eze recalled that Governor Fubara withdrew a counter-affidavit in a legal case involving Amaewhule as part of a peace deal brokered by President Tinubu. However, he lamented that while Fubara complied, his opponents refused to withdraw their court cases, indicating a lack of respect for the President’s peace efforts.
“The governor withdrew his counter-affidavit out of respect for President Tinubu, who asked all parties to sheathe their swords and seek a peaceful resolution.
But those who act as if Nigeria is their personal estate, those dictators in the making who refuse to respect the President chose to defy the truce,” he said.
Eze warned that if Tinubu allows Fubara to suffer political humiliation despite respecting his intervention, history will not be kind to him.
“If President Tinubu allows Governor Fubara to be humiliated for simply obeying him, then posterity will never be fair to him,” he declared.
With tensions still running high in Rivers politics, the coming days will reveal how President Tinubu navigates the crisis; whether he will rein in the opposing lawmakers or allow the political turmoil to escalate further.
