KO MBADIWE UNIVERSITY Ideato is a state owned institution. The Government of Hope Uzodimma successfully recovered the institution from the grips of Owelle Richest Okorocha. The University is growing in all spheres. With a population of less than 200 students in 2021, the University has not less than 1200 students at the moment with a projection of over 1700 by the next academic session.
The hostel accommodation can not stretch to the needs of the rising population of the school. Four students live in a room, contrary to the intention of the founding father of the University, who set out to build an elitist/ exclusive university, with a manageable population. There is an urgent need to build more hostels for the students. The Parents Management Forum of the University has been encouraged to solicit and encourage investors to consider the area of building hostels within the host communities.
I am appealing to our people ( those who can afford to invest in property within the host communities ) to quickly grab this opportunity. Lands are available. Host communities are willing to sell their land to those who are interested. The University will be excited to have as many hostel structures as possible, offering accommodation to the surging student population. Efforts has been made to formalize understanding with the land owners to ensure seamless and genuine transactions, guaranteeing sincerity and assisting the investor to carry out his project peacefully.This is an opportunity for Ideato people to consolidate their ownership and encourage the growth and development of the University. The University belongs to us. We have to rise before strangers buy out our lands, and set structures around our communities. We must have bigger stake in this fast growing institution
With a projected student and staff population of 15,000 in 2030,investment in real estate, building of hostels for students and residential houses for the staff of the University appears a strategically economical idea.
