The country home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State was reportedly attacked again late Tuesday night, June 17, 2025.
Eyewitnesses said armed assailants targeted the residence, smashing windows before being confronted by a joint team of police officers, vigilante members, and local residents. Their quick intervention reportedly helped repel the attackers.
One suspect, identified as Suberu Jose—a known figure in the area—was arrested at the scene. He allegedly confessed to being involved in previous attacks on the senator’s property, marking this as his third attempt. Items recovered from him included a machete and several charms.
Before his arrest, an angry mob attempted to lynch the suspect, but security personnel intervened and took him into custody.
Several other armed accomplices reportedly escaped and are currently being sought by authorities.
This incident comes just two months after a similar attack on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home on April 15, 2025.
Confirming the latest attack, the senator’s Chief Press Secretary, Isreal Arogbonlo, urged the public to remain calm and committed to justice.
“Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s unwavering dedication to truth and her constituents must not be met with threats or violence,” he stated.
