Armed bandits on Monday launched a deadly attack on Kuru-Kuru community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing the district head, Shehu Makau, and abducting several residents.
The broad daylight assault reportedly claimed multiple lives and left many others injured. According to a post by security analyst Bakatsine on X, the attackers stormed the village and unleashed violence on the community.
“Bandits struck this afternoon at Kuru-Kuru community in Maru LGA of Zamfara State. Several lives were lost, many sustained injuries and a number of residents were abducted. Among those killed was Shehu Makau, the district head of the area,” Bakatsine stated.
The exact number of abducted and injured victims remains unknown as of press time, and authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
