Suspected bandits have killed five villagers and abducted at least 100 people in fresh attacks across Zamfara and Katsina states.
Reports indicate that the assailants launched multiple attacks on villages in Zamfara, killing several residents and kidnapping dozens.
This comes just days after armed bandits killed four people and abducted several others, including a serving local government vice chairman, in Bukkuyum and Gusau Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
Efforts to obtain comments from the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazeed Abdullahi, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
