Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a key figure in Nigeria’s battle against Boko Haram, has passed away. He died on Tuesday at about 3:30 PM at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed his death in a statement on his X handle on Wednesday.
ACP Fika was instrumental in reclaiming several towns in Yobe and Borno states from Boko Haram insurgents. As the Commander of Mopol 41, he led joint security operations that significantly weakened terrorist strongholds, including the liberation of his hometown, Fika.
In 2017, he sustained gunshot wounds during an operation in Yobe State, which required prolonged medical treatment until his passing.
