Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has moved back to his residence in Kaduna State after spending nearly two years in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
Since leaving office in May 2023, Buhari has lived a quiet life in Daura, staying away from active political discussions and focusing on private engagements, according to his former aide, Bashir Ahmad, who confirmed the relocation on Facebook.
The former president was accompanied to Kaduna on Thursday by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and other high-profile dignitaries. Also present were former and current Deputy Governors of Katsina State, a former Inspector General of Police, former ministers, and several personal aides.
It was reported that Buhari had previously disclosed that he rented out one of his two houses in Kaduna.
