Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims surrounding an alleged obituary photo of his principal circulating online.
Reports had surfaced on social media platforms, including TikTok and X, suggesting that Wike collapsed at an event in Abuja on Friday. Some users went as far as sharing an obituary-style image, falsely claiming the Minister had passed away.
However, Wike made a public appearance on Sunday when he led a delegation of FCT community leaders on a Sallah homage to President Bola Tinubu at the State House, debunking the rumors.
Reacting to the controversy, Olayinka, in a post on his official X handle, accused Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo of being involved in spreading the false narrative. He alleged that Dokubo had been paid to fabricate the story and stage the obituary photo.
“But normal normal, Fubara suppose collect his money from this Hilda Dokubo,” Olayinka wrote.
“After collecting millions of naira from Opobo Judas of Rivers to stage Wike’s obituary pictures and do some rituals, they cooked up that story of Wike collapsing and being in a coma so that Fubara will be happy that they have delivered.
“So what will failed actress Hilda Dokubo tell Fubara now? Ugochinyere duped Fubara. Hilda Dokubo duped Fubara. Who else?”
The allegations have sparked reactions online, with many questioning the motivations behind the false reports.
