The Federal High Court has formally commenced the relocation of its Lagos Judicial Division from its long-standing premises at No. 24, Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to a newly completed court complex at No. 1B, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi. The move, which began on July 31, 2026, is being executed in carefully planned phases to minimise disruption to ongoing judicial work.
In a public notice issued by the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Yahaya Shafa, the court confirmed that the relocation received approval following the successful completion of the modern facility. The notice was directed to the Nigerian Bar Association, litigants, stakeholders, the Lagos State Government and members of the public, urging all concerned parties to take note and make necessary adjustments.
The first phase of the transfer involves Vacation Courts 7 and 12, alongside Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5. Also moving in this initial batch are the offices of the Chief Registrar, the Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process. Remaining courts and administrative units will follow in subsequent stages as the exercise progresses.
