A group of youths on Monday staged a protest in Abuja, calling for the immediate release of activist and social media personality, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
According to reports, VDM was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in the Federal Capital Territory. While the reasons behind his arrest remain unclear, his supporters have taken to the streets to demand his freedom.
Chanting slogans such as “He’s not a thief” and “Release VDM,” the protesters marched through the city, drawing attention to the situation. They also carried placards with various inscriptions expressing solidarity with the detained influencer.
The demonstrators gathered near the junction leading to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the Jabi area of Abuja, intensifying calls for his release.
