Gunmen stormed a pharmacy in Agyaragu, Jenkwe Development Area of Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, shooting a young lady and abducting the pharmacy owner along with two of his employees.
The attack, which occurred on Thursday around 8:44 p.m., lasted for nearly an hour without any intervention from security forces.
According to a source, the armed assailants raided Emmy Gold Pharmacy Nigeria Limited, firing sporadically. In the process, they shot a young lady who was passing by before abducting the pharmacy proprietor and his two salesboys.
“The gunmen were heavily armed, and their gunshots sent everyone running for safety,” the source said. “They dragged the pharmacy owner and his workers into the bush.”
The source urged the Nasarawa State government to strengthen security in Agyaragu and surrounding communities. He also called on security agencies to take urgent steps to combat kidnappings and ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.
Attempts to reach the spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful.
