Dele Momodu, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has firmly ruled out any possibility of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, the former presidential aspirant criticized the ruling party for promoting autocratic leadership. According to him, he has no interest in being part of a system where one individual holds excessive control over others.
“I definitely won’t join the APC. That is out of the question. If I had any intention of joining the APC, I wouldn’t be speaking to you the way I am this morning,” Momodu said.
He added, “I cannot sit in a room where one man dictates to able-bodied adults who have spent their lives working hard, acting like he’s the lord of the manor.”
Momodu, who had on Tuesday called for a coalition of opposition parties to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, also made a candid admission about his status in the PDP.
“My soul has already left the PDP,” he said. “Only my body remains.”
