The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed strong support for Northern traditional rulers following their bold stance on Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Obi praised the monarchs for declaring “Enough is Enough” in response to the relentless wave of violence and insecurity plaguing the region and the country at large. In a post on X, the former Anambra governor described the move as both courageous and timely.
“I sincerely thank the Northern Traditional Rulers for their emergency declaration on the dire security challenges facing their region,” Obi said. “I couldn’t agree more that ‘Enough is Enough.’ The ongoing killings and widespread insecurity must end.”

“Their stand should serve as a wake-up call to all stakeholders,” Obi added. “We must rise above politics and unite to tackle the root causes of our national insecurity. Only then can we build a Nigeria where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.”
