Justice Theophilus Nnamdi Nzeukwu has been sworn in as the Acting Chief Judge of Imo State, filling the vacancy left by the compulsory retirement of his predecessor, Justice Theresa Chikeka.
Governor Hope Uzodinma presided over the swearing-in ceremony, praising Nzeukwu as a seasoned legal professional with decades of experience. He expressed confidence that the new Chief Judge’s leadership would enhance the state’s justice system.
Justice Nzeukwu hails from Egwedu-Atta Autonomous Community in Njaba Local Government Area. His academic journey took him from Atta Central School and Bishop Shanahan College, Orlu, to Federal Government College, before he pursued a Law degree at the University of Lagos.
Throughout his career, he has served in various key judicial roles, including Chief Magistrate in the Imo State Judiciary, Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court in Owerri, Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Owerri, and most recently, as a High Court Judge in Owerri.
Legal analysts anticipate that under his leadership, the Imo State judiciary will experience greater stability, integrity, and efficiency.
