The Nigerian military has successfully neutralized 31 bandits and destroyed their hideouts in two separate operations in Katsina State.
In the first operation, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma engaged bandits in Maigora village, Faskari Local Government Area (LGA), killing 12, including a notorious commander known as Dogo. The confrontation began when terrorists attacked the village, resulting in five bandit casualties. As they attempted to regroup for a counterattack, seven more were eliminated by the troops. Security forces also seized seven motorcycles from the assailants.
In a separate airstrike, the air component of Operation Fansan Yamma targeted bandit camps in the Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward, Faskari LGA. The strikes, aimed at the strongholds of notorious bandit leaders Alhaji Gero and Alhaji Riga, led to the elimination of at least 19 bandits and the destruction of their camps.
Military intelligence confirms that security forces are intensifying operations across the North West, focusing on disrupting bandit supply networks and preventing their regrouping. Aerial and ground surveillance remains active to track fleeing criminals.
