The Nigerian Bar Association’s National Election Observers Team is currently making its way to Osun State ahead of the governorship election fixed for Saturday, 15 August 2026.
The team received a warm reception in Akure from the leadership and members of the NBA Akure Branch, headed by Branch Chairman Onimisi Umar and members of the Branch Executive Committee.
Leading the National Election Observers Team is Festus Okoye, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Election Working Group, which is coordinating the Association’s observation of the electoral process.
The deployment underscores the NBA’s firm commitment to credible elections, respect for the rule of law, and strict adherence to established electoral procedures. The team will proceed to Osun State, where observers will be stationed to monitor the conduct of Saturday’s governorship election.
The reception in Akure marks the beginning of another important election observation mission by the Association.
