In collaboration with medical experts, the NBA WF Imo is having a Cervical Cancer screening & vaccination outreach for Young girls & female Adults on Thursday, 31st October, 2024.
Cervical cancer is a serious health concern caused primarily by persistent infection with certain strains of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV vaccines have been developed to prevent the types of HPV that most often cause cervical cancer.
Why Young Girls Should Get Vaccinated:
– The immune response to the vaccine is stronger in younger girls, making the vaccine more effective.
– Early vaccination helps ensure that young girls are protected before any potential exposure to HPV through sexual activity.
– HPV vaccination significantly reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer later in life.
Long-Term Benefits of HPV Vaccination:
– Besides protecting against cervical cancer, the HPV vaccine also protects against other cancers caused by HPV, including throat, anal, and genital cancers.
– Vaccination can help reduce the overall burden of cervical cancer, especially in regions with limited access to regular cervical screening.
Our esteemed members are encouraged to take advantage of this outreach & get their young girls within the ages of 9 to 14 years vaccinated for FREE.
