A 35-year-old Nigerian man living in the United Kingdom has died in his sleep, leaving behind his wife and two young children, the Nigerian Community in the UK has announced.
Ekeobong Omega Nelson passed away on October 17, 2026. The community made the announcement in a statement posted on its X account on Friday, October 23.
According to the statement, Nelson’s death came as a shock because he was not known to have been ill. “He went to sleep and sadly did not wake up,” the community said.
It described the loss as painful for his family, friends and members of the Nigerian community in Britain, and called on well-wishers to offer prayers, love and support to those left behind.
The statement ended with a prayer for strength for Nelson’s wife and children and for him to rest in peace.
