The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Eyitayo Foluso Oyinlola, has emphasized the urgent need for the military to embrace innovative technology and modern strategies to effectively tackle the nation’s growing security challenges.
Speaking during the opening session of Module III of the 3 Division Operations Planning Cadre 2025, held at the 33 Artillery Brigade, Shadawanka Barracks in Bauchi, Oyinlola highlighted the critical role of technology in modern warfare and internal security operations.
He stated that the training program for junior commanders at the tactical and operational levels is designed to sharpen their leadership skills, reinforce their understanding of military responsibilities, and expose them to evolving innovations and policies within the Nigerian Army and other allied forces.
“The Nigerian Army must continue to adapt to changing threats by integrating advanced technology into its operations,” Oyinlola said. “This training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen our approach and ensure our officers are well-equipped for present and future challenges.”
He also called for enhanced collaboration among all stakeholders—government agencies, the military, and the civilian population—to support security efforts and promote peace across the country.
In his remarks, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, commended the Army for selecting the state as host for the strategic training program. He assured the participants of his administration’s continued support for security agencies working to safeguard lives and property in the region.
