The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that the registration deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) remains March 8, 2025, with no possibility of an extension.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, emphasizing that the deadline had been clearly communicated through advertisements and the official 2025 UTME calendar.
The announcement follows the successful registration of over 1.5 million candidates, a figure that aligns with the Board’s projections for this year’s examination cycle.
“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read. “This notice is particularly important due to the recent decline in the number of candidates registering. We urge all individuals interested in taking the UTME to register promptly and avoid last-minute rush.”
JAMB also highlighted that its operational calendar is strictly structured, with several critical activities, including the conduct of examinations, results processing, and the admissions exercises scheduled immediately after the registration period.
“These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations depend on the timely completion of our processes. Extending the registration period would not only disrupt JAMB’s plans but also affect our partners,” the Board stated.
JAMB, therefore, urged all candidates to complete their registration before the deadline, stressing the importance of adhering to the official schedule for the 2025 UTME.
