Former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has criticized the Benue State Government for allowing schoolchildren to line the streets under the rain to welcome President Bola Tinubu during his visit to Makurdi on Wednesday.
President Tinubu was in the state capital following a series of deadly attacks by suspected herders in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area, and other parts of Benue.
Despite the poor weather conditions, students were made to stand along the roadside in Makurdi as part of the reception for the President’s visit.
Reacting to the incident, Ezekwesili took to social media to express outrage, condemning what she described as the dehumanization of Nigerian citizens by public officials.
“They believe the Nigerian citizens are conquered souls. Will it always be so?” she asked.
“No, because there is that one Factor that our politicians never add to their equation when they become carried away with and drunk on Public Power.”
