The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara, has expressed the party’s desire to have Governor Alex Otti of Abia State return to its fold.
Speaking at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Umuahia, the state capital, Wabara praised Otti’s developmental efforts, describing them as evidence-based and non-partisan. He stated that the PDP would welcome the governor back into the party.
“Politics ends after campaigns and elections, then governance begins. Even a blind man can see what is happening in Abia,” Wabara said. “Governor, continue to do well. Our ancestors in Abia are with you, and I want to believe that you are in constant touch with them for guidance. Every Abian is happy with you”.
Wabara also commended Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for his achievements, noting that both Mbah and Otti have set new standards for governance in the South-East.
“I have never mentioned your party, the Labour Party. I have always said Governor Alex Otti is doing well. Nobody knows where he will swing in 2027. So, when my critics talk, they should know I am speaking about Otti. We are all wooing him. Governor, we are all wooing you,” he added.
Wabara comments come amid internal turmoil within the PDP, where he has been caught in a leadership crisis.
