Suspected gunmen have killed four women and injured three others during an attack on Jean Tangur 2 village in Tangur District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The assault reportedly occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 19.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, stating that the assailants stormed the village at night and opened fire on residents.
The deceased victims were identified as Rachael Ayuba, Cecilia John, Naomi Siman, and Esther Ezra. The three injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos.
In response to the attack, a joint security team comprising soldiers, police officers, and local vigilantes was deployed to the area. Makama added that security agencies are actively working to track down the perpetrators.
