Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that President Bola Tinubu should not be held responsible for Nigeria’s current economic challenges.
Speaking with State House correspondents on Tuesday after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Eno emphasized that the country’s economic problems were inherited and not created by the Tinubu administration.
“President Tinubu didn’t create the problem we are in right now. For me, I believe he is doing his best, and he should be supported to finish strong,” the governor said.
He described Tinubu’s first two years in office as “wonderful,” noting that the President has shown commitment in tackling the nation’s pressing issues.
Governor Eno also highlighted the achievements of his own administration in Akwa Ibom, particularly in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and rural development.
He revealed that while the first half of his tenure focused on grassroots development, the next phase will prioritize large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at positioning the state as a leading economic and tourism destination.
