Prominent northern politician, Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu’s administration prioritizes the Yoruba ethnic group over national interests.
Speaking on the maiden edition of the Political Advantage Platform (PAP) podcast hosted by Hadiza Malumfashi, Naja’atu claimed that Tinubu is using Nigeria’s national resources to develop only the South-West region, where he hails from.
“I have nothing personal against Tinubu,” she said, “but it is evident that everything in his administration is for Yorubas, by Yorubas, and about Yorubas.”
According to her, the President has abandoned the idea of national unity in favor of regionalism, which she believes has contributed to the country’s deepening economic challenges.
“When a government turns a deaf ear to its own people while listening only to external forces, the result is a broken economy and widespread suffering,” she said.
A former member of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council, Naja’atu expressed disappointment in the President’s leadership, stating that Nigerians had high hopes for his tenure due to his touted experience as the former governor of Lagos State. However, she believes his administration has failed to meet expectations.
She also emphasized that meaningful development would remain out of reach unless the federal government urgently addresses the nation’s worsening insecurity.
