Troops conducting clearance operations in Zamfara State have eliminated a notorious bandit leader known as ‘Yellow Aboki,’ a close associate of the late terror kingpin Hassan Bamamu.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that Yellow Aboki was neutralized during a recent operation by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in Tsafe Local Government Area, North West Nigeria.
His death follows the military’s successful operation that took down Hassan Dantawaye, also known as Bamamu—a feared bandit commander and one of his closest allies.
Following Bamamu’s elimination, Yellow Aboki had been consolidating his control over criminal activities in Zamfara, particularly in Bamamu, Dan Mali, Agamalafiya, and Makera, where he coordinated violent attacks and kidnappings.
The military has intensified its crackdown on bandit kingpins across Zamfara, Sokoto, and other troubled areas in the North West. This sustained pressure has significantly weakened the bandits’ operational capacity, forcing them to resort to isolated attacks on vulnerable communities with minimal security presence.
