The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed allegations that it sponsored thugs to attack members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
In a statement, PDP Publicity Secretary Haliru Andi challenged the APC to provide concrete evidence to substantiate its claims, urging the opposition party to convince the people of Zamfara with verifiable proof.
Responding to inquiries via WhatsApp, Andi emphasized that the APC must prove its allegations beyond a reasonable doubt by naming those allegedly responsible within the PDP and presenting evidence linking the attackers to the ruling party. He cautioned the public against accepting unverified claims, insisting that any accusations should be tested in a competent court of law.
Furthermore, the PDP called on the APC to caution its members, particularly House of Representatives member Abdulmalik Zubairu, whom the party accused of organizing an illegal gathering in Bungudu town. The PDP warned that Zubairu would be held accountable for any breach of law and order resulting from the assembly.
The party also reminded the APC that the 2027 election campaign season has not yet begun and urged them to allow the people of Zamfara to live in peace.
