A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has hinted at a possible coalition among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on AIT, Ologbondiyan warned the ruling party of a significant political shift, stating:
“What is coming is heavy. What is important is the desire and readiness of opposition figures to unite. If the signals we are receiving are accurate, Nigerians can have hope and rest assured that change is possible. In Ghana, the opposition recently won an election.”
His statement follows confirmation from former PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that discussions are underway to form an opposition alliance. However, Atiku dismissed speculations about his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
