Armed bandits have killed a member of the Community Protection Guard (CPG) in Dutsin Wake village, Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State, and made away with his firearm.
The incident, which occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on April 28, was confirmed by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Faruk Suleman, was reportedly on duty when he was attacked and fatally shot by the assailants. His pump-action rifle was taken by the attackers before they fled the scene.
Security operatives later recovered his body and transported it to a hospital for autopsy.
