The Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Hon. Ibeh Franklin Kennedy Chukwuemeka, has declared that the results of the party’s recent primaries cannot be successfully challenged.
Speaking in Owerri, Ibeh described those questioning the outcomes as either “idiotic or stupid.” He maintained that the primaries covering positions from the House of Assembly to the Senate, were conducted with transparent scrutiny and produced the strongest candidates for the party.
Former Imo State Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume are currently contesting the senatorial primary results in Orlu Zone (Imo West), where incumbent Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma emerged, and Okigwe Zone (Imo North), where Senator Patrick Ndubueze was declared winner.
Ibeh rejected the challenges, arguing that the exercise was peaceful, successful and widely accepted. He accused those disputing the results of being driven by greed and an unwillingness to accept defeat, saying such actions risk undermining a process he described as one of the most seamless primaries in the history of political parties in Imo State.
“How can any sensible person question Imo APC Primaries that have been adjudged as one of the best in Political Primaries in Nigeria?” he asked.
The youth leader expressed satisfaction with the quality of candidates produced, noting that they are already preparing to begin campaigns in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable. He urged party members to remain focused, work in harmony and ignore distractions.
“No amount of distractions by mischief makers will stop APC’s victory in the coming elections,” Ibeh stated, calling on critics to allow the party to operate in peace.
