President Bola Tinubu held a high-level meeting with Defence Minister General Christopher Musa (rtd) at the Presidential Residence in Lagos on Monday to review Nigeria’s defence framework and ongoing security operations.
The discussions focused on assessing progress in counter-insurgency and anti-banditry efforts, as well as coordinating inter-agency strategies to maintain national peace and security, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence.
Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the gains made in protecting vulnerable communities and reaffirmed his administration’s full support for the Ministry of Defence.
Musa briefed the president on current defence initiatives, frontline logistics, and proposed reforms intended to improve troop morale, modernise military hardware, and strengthen infrastructure across the country. He thanked Tinubu for his continued guidance and support, and assured the public that the ministry remains committed to its mandate.
The meeting forms part of the president’s regular security briefings with key officials aimed at addressing both security and economic challenges.
