The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the pa’s Board of Trustees (BoT), citing alleged anti-party activities.
Announcing the decision in Umuahia on Tuesday, Abia PDP Chairman Abraham Amah stated that Wabara’s expulsion followed the adoption of a disciplinary committee’s report, which investigated his alleged misconduct.
According to Amah, the committee reviewed Wabara’s earlier suspension before recommending his expulsion. The key issue leading to his removal was his endorsement of Abia State Governor Alex Otti for a second term, an act the PDP considered a betrayal.
In response, the party has called on its national leadership to appoint a new BoT Chairman.
As of the time of this report, Wabara and his supporters had yet to issue any statement regarding his expulsion.
