The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday sharply criticised Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike over his recent comments about former PDP Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George. In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Dr Christopher Odianarewo, the party described Wike’s remarks as revealing an ongoing obsession with George rather than the focus expected of a serving minister. The response followed comments by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, in which the minister said he had no regrets about blocking George’s bid for the PDP national chairmanship and dismissed him as lacking electoral value.…

Seventeen of the dead were soldiers. The crash occurred about 50 kilometres (35 miles) from the town of Madaoua. One of the buses was carrying military personnel, according to the official ANP news agency. Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident. Former U.S. President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones and is causing significant pain, his son Hunter Biden disclosed in a recent interview. Hunter Biden, speaking emotionally to the BBC, said the disease has “metastasized into his bones and further.” He described watching his father’s condition as “very sad” and “very debilitating in many respects.” “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good,” Hunter said. “He is the center of our family… He is our rock.” Biden, 83, publicly revealed…

The claimant is contesting the validity of the Will and seeking to stop any dissipation of assets while the substantive suit is heard. Akindele died on June 29, 2020, aged 88, at his Lagos residence. The conviction falls under Russia’s laws restricting materials deemed to promote non-traditional sexual relations. The case is the latest in a series of enforcement actions against publishers, streaming platforms and online services. Russian authorities have steadily expanded restrictions on LGBT-related expression, framing the measures as necessary to safeguard traditional values against…
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has absolved Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, of any wrongdoing in the controversy surrounding the so-called Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). The anti-graft agency said the purported Director-General of the PFIPC, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, was never appointed by the federal government and that the appointment letter he presented was forged. It described the PFIPC as a fictitious organisation that never existed under any law, executive order or valid government instrument. ICPC Chairman Dr Musa Aliyu (SAN) disclosed the findings on Thursday while briefing journalists after…
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has said he has no regrets over blocking former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy National Chairman Chief Bode George from emerging as the party’s national chairman, describing him as a failed politician who has delivered no electoral victories for the PDP in Lagos State since 1999. In a statement issued on Saturday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said George’s frustration stems from being denied the national chairmanship, a position he treated “like his birthright.” “His anger is because we didn’t allow him to be PDP…
