Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede has praised Nigerian troops across all theatres for their discipline, resilience and steadfast commitment to national defence.
In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, the CDS also commended the sustained partnership among the Armed Forces, other security agencies, local security outfits and relevant stakeholders. He said the collaboration continues to yield positive results in the fight against terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities.
Oluyede further acknowledged the media’s professionalism and balanced coverage of military operations. He urged members of the public to keep supplying useful information to security forces to strengthen the nation’s security architecture. Task Force North-East (Operation Hadin Kai) show recent successes. Troops arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State and recovered assorted foodstuffs and provisions believed to be destined for terrorists in Kukawa LGA.
On 4 August 2026, another suspected logistics supplier was arrested at Gwalaram Village in Magumeri LGA. A day earlier, on 3 August, troops rescued 18-year-old Blessing Tuggur, who had been abducted in November 2025 along the Dogoba Kopre axis in Askira-Uba LGA. She received medical attention and was reunited with her family.
The same day, a suspect was arrested at Kan Lamba Village in Darazo LGA of Bauchi State for allegedly attempting to procure firearms. On 5 August, a suspected terrorist informant was arrested at Dzangola Kilba in Hong LGA of Adamawa State.
Several family members of suspected terrorists have also surrendered or been intercepted in Gwoza, Konduga and Bama LGAs of Borno State. In addition, a group of 20 persons surrendered to troops at Kwuari in Konduga LGA.
