Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of planning to manipulate Nigerians with political tactics ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an interview with Trust TV, Dalung claimed that Tinubu’s government has no real intention of developing Nigeria but will engage in strategic deception to sway public opinion.
He predicted that as part of this strategy, the government would reduce the price of petrol to N500 per liter to create an illusion of relief and progress.
“The government is playing pranks with Nigerians. It has no intention of developing Nigeria; it will only engage in political tricks,” Dalung said.
He argued that Tinubu’s administration would attempt to “recondition the minds of Nigerians” into believing it has changed for the better.
“By mid-2025, the government will announce that, after listening to the cries of Nigerians, fuel will be produced at 50 percent capacity, bringing the price down to N500 per liter.
“Then their propagandists will flood the media, claiming that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“They will keep adjusting policies to make it seem as though they have turned into ‘born-again’ politicians.”
Dalung warned Nigerians to be cautious, emphasizing that previous promises had only led to increased hardship.
