Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has sanctioned the suspension of Hon. Damian Lawani, Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission.
Similarly, the governor has also suspended the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Samson Osagie.
In a statement released on Wednesday night, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., announced that both officials were suspended due to serious accusations of financial and administrative misconduct.
“As a result, the Governor has constituted an Investigative Committee to look into the allegations and provide suitable recommendations,” the statement read.
The SSG explained that the suspension was essential to facilitate a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged financial violations.
The officials will remain suspended throughout the investigation, with the decision taking effect immediately.
