The newly appointed Chairman of the Board at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is making considerable investments in the healthcare sector in the South-East, underscoring the President’s strong interest in advancing the region’s socio-economic growth.
Dalori made the remarks during his first visit to NAUTH, where he also highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to nationwide healthcare reforms, as reported by his media team in Abuja yesterday.
He assured continued government support for enhancing healthcare in the South-East and across Nigeria.
The NAUTH Board Chairman stressed the government’s dedication to improving healthcare in the South-East, citing various initiatives aimed at bolstering medical services in Anambra State and the broader region.
Dalori also commended the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali-Pate, for his unwavering efforts in setting up a modern, state-of-the-art radiodiagnostic center at NAUTH, which, when completed, will significantly aid in the fight against diseases in the region.
During a meeting with hospital personnel, Dalori reassured them of enhanced welfare, well-being, and motivation under the current government.
In his address, Prof. Joseph Ugboaja, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of NAUTH, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his dedication to meeting the healthcare needs of the Igbo community. He also acknowledged Prof. Muhammad Ali-Pate’s instrumental role in advancing healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The CMD emphasized how Prof. Ali-Pate is reshaping the nation’s healthcare system, transforming challenges into progress as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the goal of aligning Nigeria’s medical services with global standards.
Prof. Ugboaja also praised the substantial support President Tinubu has provided for NAUTH’s major projects, describing it as evidence of the President’s strong commitment to both Anambra State and the Igbo people.
